Tbilisi. On September 12 the "Women's
Information Center" has organized the meeting with participation of women
representing ethnic minorities and the leaders of political parties. Main
objective of the meeting was to inform the representatives of political parties
participating in the parliamentary elections about the problems of ethnic
minorities and to discuss the possible ways of solution of these problems.
Leader
women from KvemoKartli and Kakheti have arrived in the capital to participate
in the discussion. In addition, the Chechen women have attended the meeting.
Political parties at the meeting were represented by MananaKobakhidze - from
the political coalition "BidzinaIvanishvili - Georgian Dream",
Chiorataktakishvili - from the National Movement, Magda Anikashvili - from the
Christian-Democratic Movement, Giorgi Lortkipanidze - from the New Rights and
Leila Gaprindashvili - from the Labor Party.
Issues
such as employment, healthcare, integration in the Georgian society,
participation of women in politics, etc. were discussed at the meeting.
After
the meeting the parties have agreed that the Women's Information Center will
provide the political parties with the recommendations and opinions of the
meeting participants.
The
meeting was organized as part of the project – "Voice of women
representing ethnic minorities in the 2012 parliamentary elections".
