Tbilisi. The Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises
Association has organized the business forum on September 19 on the alternative
ways of tax dispute resolution. Following the welcome speeches, the
representative of the Revenue Service has delivered at the forum the
presentation on the tax disputes in the Revenue Service, followed by the
discussion.
In addition, the study on the effective
institutes of the tax dispute resolution was presented at the forum, which
concerns the introduction of alternative ways of tax dispute resolution in
Georgia. The study discusses the current situation in Georgia, international
practice, and provides recommendations.
CSO representatives and the Minister for
Employment of Georgia Paata Trapaidze have attended the forum. At the end of
the forum the participants have signed the memorandum, pursuant to which the
signatories support the initiative that the state, business, civil society and
international organizations pursue active cooperation "to create such a model
of institutional arrangement of tax dispute resolution in Georgia, which will
introduce the practice of international standards and enhance the rule of law
in the country”.
