Tbilisi. The National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum has released a statement, by which the Forum supports the joint initiative of CSO and media organizations on renewing the "This Affects You Too" campaign.
"We find that the problem related to surveillance is still urgent and the creation of systemic guarantees is necessary to rule out arbitrary actions of law-enforcers in this area. We agree with the initiators of the "This Affects You Too" campaign that several provisions of the current legislation directly contradicts standards set by the European Court of Human Rights," says the statement.
Platform member organizations signatory to the statement appeal to the Parliament for it to take into account the campaign's proposals.
