Tbilisi. Transparency International - Georgia has released a statement in the social network. "On April 25, at the rally held in Kvareli against the dismissal of the Municipality Gamgebeli Davit Kevkhishvili, the police have detained Kevkhishvili and his 17 supporters with petty hooliganism charges. The court has imposed administrative fines on the detainees.
... We call on the Ministry of Interior and the Chief Prosecutor's Office to refrain from undertaking legal actions against politically active persons during the pre-election period; the self-government authorities, to take into consideration the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Commission for Free and Fair Elections and refrain from the impeachment procedure during the pre-election period."
