Demand to Improve Educational Environment for Persons with Disabilities
Adjara. The Chairman of CSO "For
the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”, Tamaz Mzhavanadze has organized a
briefing on July9, at which he
talked about the environment of higher education institutions in Adjara adapted
for persons with disabilities. According to him, the auditoriums and logistical
base in the universities do not provide an opportunity for free movement of
persons with disabilities.Tamaz Mzhavanadze urges the Ministry of
Education of Georgia to timely resolve these problems, because compared to
previous years, he claims the number of persons with disabilities eager to
receive higher education has increased. There are 341 schoolchildren with
disabilities currently in Adjara, whose majority plans to continue studies to
receive higher education.
