There is a myth that hydropower is the cheapest, greenest and most modern technology. In reality, hydropower facilities have a dramatic impact on the environment and people. Construction of large dams floods forests, terrestrial and riparian ecosystems, agricultural lands, changes river flow and results in coastal erosion.
