The USAID Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) PLUS project is seeking a Marketing Specialist to provide technical assistance services to the Georgian Logistics Association (GLA). The Georgian Logistics Association (GLA) is a non-profit organization focusing on the logistics and transportation sector. The GLA is the authorized Georgian representative of the leading US research organization in supply chain management and logistics: The Supply Chain Council.
The GLA represents companies, organizations, and individuals actively involved in the business of logistics, transportation, and supply chain management. The GLA is working to develop the Supply Chain Council in Georgia and introduce the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR). The Supply Chain Council will be housed within the GLA and GLA members will automatically become Council members. The GLA plans to begin a national promotional campaign in late 2013 or early 2014 to publicize the Supply Chain Council and SCOR and attract new members to the Council (and the GLA). The GLA sees this campaign as a crucial step in the growth and development of the Council and the GLA. To successfully achieve this goal, it is vitally important for GLA to plan and implement a well-targeted national promotional campaign.
In addition, GLA is interested in identifying new products that could bring the GLA more members; there is a need to develop, package and market these new products to make GLA more attractive to potential members. Finally, GLA plans to improve the organization's website and promotional materials to have a ready information point for the potential members.
It is expected that this assignment will start early December 2013 and will last approximately 4 weeks. The consultant will be based in the GLA's office in Tbilisi.
Responsibilities:
** Help the GLA plan and implement the promotional campaign;
** Increase awareness of supply chain management and the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) among stakeholders of the logistics industry and the society in general;
** Identify new products that could bring the GLA more members; Recommend ways to package/market these new products and make them more attractive to potential members;
** Recommend improvements to the GLA website and promotional materials.
Qualifications:
** A university degree in a related field required;
** Demonstrated technical and professional skills in marketing required;
** At least 5 years of relevant experience;
** Knowledge of logistics and transportation sector desirable;
** Advanced skills and experience in new product development;
** Understanding of web design and website usability;
** Strong analytical skills;
** Excellent communication skills;
** Ability to take initiative and work with tight deadlines;
** Fluency in Georgian;
** Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs, Excel, Internet, PowerPoint).
