Open Society Georgia Foundation announces a vacancy of Human Rights Program Manager

Human Rights Program is focused on the protection of fundamental rights in criminal justice field. The Program aims to improve criminal justice policy, guarantee equality of arms, and eliminate torture and ill-treatment in Georgia.
The Program supports outstanding initiatives from civil society organizations and independent experts in criminal justice field, aimed at improving legal framework and practice on pretrial justice, and liberalization of criminal justice policy in Georgia (for more information, please, visit: www.osgf.ge).
Description of duties:
The manager directs the Human Rights Program, and is responsible for carrying out activities according to the priorities specified above.
Key responsibilities:
  • Management and monitoring of the Program;
  • Identifying goals, objectives and strategy of the Program;
  • Analyzing current developments and tendencies in related fields;
  • Maintaining regular consultations with potential grantees;
  • Monitoring implementation of the funded projects;
  • Drafting in-house projects, calls for proposals, and research work;
  • Coordinating activities of the relevant international donor and non-governmental organizations;
  • Cooperating with representatives of governmental agencies, CSOs and individuals/experts.
Candidates must satisfy the following requirements:
  • Master's degree in law (preferable degree or professional experience in criminal justice field);
  • At least 5 years' professional experience in human rights sphere;
  • Experience in developing or implementing successful projects/initiatives;
  • Sound knowledge of human rights' principles and practice.
Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication; ability to think and act quickly, creatively and strategically under pressure; ability to work collaboratively, flexibly and effectively in a small, dynamic team.
Language skills: Advanced knowledge of Georgian and English languages.
Accountability: The Program Manager is accountable to the OSGF Executive Director.
Salary: Wage rate is determined according to the Foundation regulations and procedures, and salary history, qualifications and professional experience of the candidate.

Selection procedure: candidates will be selected through a competition. The competition will be held in several stages.
