Mercy Corps is announcing an opening for the position of regional field supervisors for the baseline survey.
The baseline survey will be implemented within the framework of the EU-funded programme: Strengthening Farmers' Cooperatives in Rural Municipalities of Georgia. The survey will cover 16 municipalities within Imereti (Samtredia, Vani, Sachkhere, Chaitura), Shida Kartli (Gori, Kaspi,Kareli, Khashuri), Kvemo Kartli (Gardabani, Marneuli, Tetritskaro), Samtskhe-Javakheti (Ninotsminda, Akhalkhalakhi) and Kakheti (Gurjaani, Kvareli, Sagarejo) regions of Georgia where rural households will be interviewed. Mercy Corps is recruiting the fieldwork supervisors for each region.
** Imereti (1 fieldwork supervisor)
** Shida Kartli (1 fieldwork supervisor)
** Kvemo Kartli (1 fieldwork supervisor)
** Kakheti (1 fieldwork supervisor)
** Samtskhe-Javakheti (1 fieldwork supervisor)
Duties and responsibilities:
** Participate in the survey training in Tbilisi;
** Train the local enumerators using the appropriate portions of the Implementation Manual;
** Coordinate and supervise all enumeration activities during the data collection process with survey households;
** Monitor, check, and assess the quality of the work of the enumerators, and review the questionnaires for completeness, consistency, and accuracy;
** Provide a weekly report of response rates differentiating between refusals and problems with the sample frame;
** Deliver hard copies of the completed questionnaires;
** Prepare technical report (essays, dates of the fieldwork, problems faced during the field, number of interviews conducted, etc);
200 household questionnaires will be completed in each region.
The survey is planned to begin in March 15, 2014 and the duration is 3 weeks.
Qualifications and personal qualities:
** University degree;
** Experience in working in the target area;
** Experience in working as an enumerator (desired);
** Good communication skills - Ability to clearly interpreting ideas and present arguments verbally and in writing;
** Fluency in Russian (a must in Kvemo Kartli and Samckhe- Javakheti);
** Knowledge of Armenian languages in Samckhe Javakheti Region and Azeri Language in Kvemo Kartli is desired.
