Tbilisi. The 6-month project on promoting sensory
integration and social adaptation of children with disabilities is being
implemented at the initiative of "First Step Georgia” and with financial
support of the Future Foundation’s social project "Life Tree”.The project’s key concern is to
meet the needs of the majority of children with disabilities, who suffer from
dysfunctions of sensory integration and have difficulties in adapting in the
environment, movement, behavior control, communication, adapting with
novelties, etc.As part of the project, the
manual will be developed for parents and specialists – "How to Create
Developing Sensory Toys” and 250 sensory toys will be prepared. Minimum 10
volunteers will be trained (including a young person with disability or
parent), who will be able to prepare sensory toys. Video portal will be
developed also, hosting the videos on how to create the toys.
