Tbilisi. CSO "Young Barristers" will submit to the Parliament of Georgia legislative initiative on employment of students. Legislative initiative foresees amendments to various laws and aims to create legal bases for regulating the employment of students, develop the employment institutionally, establish uniform approaches towards youth employment, and to stress the state will with respect to introducing potential benefits for the employers. Tbilisi. The 6-month project on promoting sensory integration and social adaptation of children with disabilities is being implemented at the initiative of "First Step Georgia” and with financial support of the Future Foundation’s social project "Life Tree”.The project’s key concern is to meet the needs of the majority of children with disabilities, who suffer from dysfunctions of sensory integration and have difficulties in adapting in the environment, movement, behavior control, communication, adapting with novelties, etc.As part of the project, the manual will be developed for parents and specialists – "How to Create Developing Sensory Toys” and 250 sensory toys will be prepared. Minimum 10 volunteers will be trained (including a young person with disability or parent), who will be able to prepare sensory toys. Samegrelo. The youth center "Ortus" of Association "Atinati" has organized the project's 2-year work summary event on July 27. The Center's members have informed the audience about events held over two years, best activities and the stories of the Center's members that have achieved success as part of the project.The event was organized as part of the Advancing National Integration project, implemented by the UN Association of Georgia, with financial support of the US Agency for International Development.

Shida Kartli. Public Union "Friendship Bridge - Kartlosi" has launched trainings for the participants of the youth local self-government school. During the two-day trainings youngsters residing in the Gori Municipality have learned the rules of identifying problems in local communities, lobbying and advocating them, as well as the self-government's functions and powers.The youth local self-government school was set up as part of the project "Enhancing Youth Participation at Regional Level in Georgia". The project aims to activate the youth and increase their participation in the development of local communities, create favorable environment for acknowledging the importance of the civil society, and promote stronger and deeper education for the youth in leading the advocacy process.

Tbilisi. With initiative of Information Centre for NATO and European Union schoolchildren of Zemo Nikozi visited "National Training Centre of Krtsanisi”. The students were introduced to how the training center was operating and how the preparation of armed forces of Georgia was provided before leaving for international missions. Later, the students visited the Occupation Museum and Information Center of NATO and the European Union. At the end of the day, they met the State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Mr. Aleksi Petriashvili in Georgian Government Administration. In Civic Engagement Centre of Telavi non-governmental organization "McLain Association for Children” held training seminar for inclusive education.The seminar was attended by school teachers, kindergarten nurses and parents of children with disabilities. Training seminar aimed to raise awareness of parents and teachers working with children with disabilities.    

Kvemo Kartli. Siqa "Social Media Summer School” started working. On July 22 the second lesson was given. Participants received theoretical and practical knowledge about "Facebook” and "Google” social networks and e-mail. Siqa volunteers from Turkey took part in classes. On July 21 Anti-Violence Network of Georgia started project "Gender Consciousness through Informal Learning”.The project aims to promote dialogue between teachers from 6 countries and share their experience. Teachers discuss how to use informal learning method effectively and what strategy should they choose in order to become gender as important trend among young people.The project is implemented with European Union support. Samtskhe-Javakheti. Seminar was held to members of Akhaltsikhe youth centrein a conference hall ofNGO "Union of Democrat Meskhs” within the framework of the project "Popularization of Georgia’s North Atlantic aspiration idea and democratic values among youth of Samtskhe-Javakheti region”.The project has been implemented by "National Youth Movement for Human Rights”. The project has been financed by Children and Youth Development Fund of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

Tbilisi. On July 17 a seminar – "International Convention Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage”was held organized byEducation, Science and Cultural Committee of 2014 Youth Parliament. The seminar aimed to raise awareness for UNESCO conventions connected to protection of Cultural Heritage.The seminar was led by head of Department of International Relations of Georgian Cultural Heritage Protection National Agency. Tbilisi. Members of Georgian Youth Parliament, education, science and culture committee held a briefing. The deputies discussed current problems regarding gold mine and presented a plan of problem solving to the Ministry of Culture; the plan was drawn up by young parliamentarians together with this field experts. Kakheti. In the village Kisiskhevi of Telavi Municipality the movie show was held in the public school hall initiated by NGO "My Village 2008”. The public school pupils, teachers and school civil club members attended the movie show.The organization representatives said movie show was quite interesting; it was followed by a discussion.

Samtskhe-Javakheti. On July 16 the movie show was held in a conference hall of NGO "Union of Democrat Meskhs” in Akhaltsikhe within framework of the project "Strengthen National Integration”. The film told the story of a young talented musician. The movie show was attended by the organization youth network members.    

Adjara. On July 15 the exhibition of social housing projects was held in Batumi Art Teaching University. Projects were developed by Bern, Batumi and Tbilisi University students. On base of an official agreement with Batumi self-government and Swiss development agency the students prepared up to 40 projects; among them 25 best works were handed to the city government with protection of copyright and rights of make changes. According to the mentioned projects Batumi City Hall is planning to build "cheap houses” and shelter for the elderly. The best project author will go to Switzerland for professional development.

Kvemo Kartli.  "The First Step in Georgia" launches 11 month project - "In Kvemo Kartli region, support to ethnic minority children and youth with disabilities and to raise awareness of social inclusion and promoting the welfare of disabled spheres."The project aims to protect the rights of ethnic minorities with disabilities and social integration of the region, in particular, Marneuli. Imereti. The office of "Dialogue of Generations” has hosted a meeting as part of the program – "Seminar on Everything and for Everyone”. The seminar focused on "Exchange and Education Programs Abroad”. At the meeting the audience was informed about concrete education programs that provide opportunity to study abroad, what are the eligibility criteria, what is needed for receiving education abroad and what is the duration of such programs.At the end of the seminar youngsters were awarded with certificates. Similar seminars will be organized in the future as well and any interested youngsters will be able to attend.

Tbilisi. Jumpstart Georgia published the visualization - "Don't Limit HER Possibilities!”. "While girls score equally as well as boys on Georgian exit exams in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects, they receive less support, are consistently less confident, and ultimately make up only 16% university students in IT. CSO "Progress” has organized a workshop on July 9 in the Batumi Civic Engagement Center for interns of the 2014 Batumi self-government, at which the attendees were informed about competencies of self-government and the new Self-Government Code.In addition, workshop participants have discussed basic and complementary competencies of the City Hall and the Sakrebulo. In the near future, once the Sakrebulo starts functioning with the new staff, an active phase of internship will be launched and the interns will be allocated to various offices and departments of the City Hall. This internship will be completed in October 2014.

Tbilisi. Implementation of the project "Young Leaders”, supported by the Children and Youth Development Fund and organized by the Academic Center for Youth Initiatives and Civil Development, has been completed. As part of the project, the course of trainings and lecture-seminars in leadership, team work, presentation skills, public speeches, organization management and other necessary skills was developed for 100 students of the state and private higher education institutions. Adjara. The closing of festival "Narrative Performances" and the winner's award ceremony were held on July 7 in the Batumi Modern Art Center. Members of the "Democracy Narrators' Group" have presented the stories and staged narrative performances on democracy prepared during the 5-week period. Finally, the jury has revealed the winners.The festival was organized for the first time by CSO "Borjghali". The project is financially supported by the "Open Society - Georgia" Foundation and the Adjara Department for Sports and Youth Affairs.

Shida Kartli. Members of organizational group on social-educational problems of the Youth Parliament of Georgia have visited a border village Dvani as part of the project "One Book Campaign" and met with the local youth in the Dvani Public School.With involvement of students of various Georgian universities and the schoolchildren, during one month the Youth Parliament has collected books for youngsters living in the border village, which they have presented to the local school library.Apart from presenting the books, during the day education trainings were delivered and intellectual activities and games were organized for the Dvani-based youth.
