This report is provides a brief contextual overview describing legal and structural peculiarities of the operating environment for Georgian CSOs. Next, it outlines the methodological approaches used in this study. This is followed by the main findings, specifically with a chapter on the internal governance structure of Georgian CSOs, a section analyzing the economic and financial sustainability of these entities. Next comes a chapter assessing CSO capacities and the nature of multilateral cooperation. The empirical part concludes with the analysis of CSO participation in policy dialogue. Tbilisi. On May 19, Georgia’s Responsible Business Awards Meliora 2020 will be conducted in an online format. On January 28-29, 2021 the CSO National Forum was held in the online format. The forum brought together up to 200 representatives of civil society and other sectors from all the regions of Georgia but also from the Eastern Partnership countries. The main focus of the forum was the role of Civil Society in promoting reforms and the challenges they face. The conference was welcomed by a representative of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Ms. Dominika Skubida. She underlined the importance of civil society as a partner in promoting reforms: “I have had the privilege to observe the development of the civil society in Georgia during the last four years. I am pleased to see how active and diverse civil society has become, especially in the regions.” In the opening panel, representatives of the Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative presented key results of this four-year-long EU support program in areas such as diversification of funding sources with emphasis on state funding available for CSOs, increased cooperation between civil society and businesses in the framework of the CSR activities of the later, empowering of the youth as civic activists and promoting work of CSOs through the campaign ‘This Country is Yours’. The panel was followed by a discussion among participants about the role and challenges of civil society in the regions of Georgia. During the last panel, international experts presented their views about the current situation in civil society across the Eastern Partnership region. Zemo-Svaneti. Within the funded project “Let’s Clean Svaneti Together!”, Upper Svaneti Local Action Group (LAG Upper Svaneti) held clean up campaigns in the communities of Mestia municipality: Nakra, Mulakhi Tsvirmi, Kala and Ipari on November 10 and 11. Two waste bins and information boards were installed on each location. ““Let’s Clean Svaneti Together!” – is one of the winning initiatives of the Contest for Volunteering Initiatives announced by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC). Tbilisi. “Bloggers from Zemo Racha” is one of the volunteer initiatives that won the "Ideas Competition for Voluntary Initiatives" announced by the Center for Education Development and Employment (EDEC) in the frameworks of the program “Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative”. Within the initiative, the initiative group from Upper Racha invites young people from Oni municipality aged 15-18 to take part in a program “Bloggers from Upper Racha”. The program aims to assist vulnerable groups, promote their integration into society, support formal and non-formal education, address local community issues, and promote volunteering”.
