Tbilisi. More than 100 observers of Election Environment Development Centre were monitoring the June 15, 2014 local self-government elections throughout Georgia. Tbilisi. Georgian Young Lawyers' Association published an evaluation of the June 15, 2014 Local Self-Government Election Day. "...On June 15, Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association conducted the observation of the Local Self-Government Elections in Tbilisi and in 40 districts of 10 regions of Georgia through up to 500 observers. Despite a number of violations, the electoral process was mainly calm. Voters had the possibility of freely expressing their will. In a majority of cases the election administration was adequately responding to the remarks given by GYLA observers and was subsequently eliminating the electoral violations...". Tbilisi. Transparency International Georgia released a statement regarding election processes. "By the end of voting, Transparency International (TI) Georgia had observed approximately 25 serious and nearly 15 less serious violations of electoral procedures throughout the country. Our observers had filed 15 complaints by 20:00. TI Georgia assesses the election day as generally calm and safe. However, TI observers were able to note an especially high number of violations and some instances of tension in certain electoral districts, i.e. in Martvili and Zugdidi districts". Tbilisi. Georgian Young Lawyers' Association released a statement. "According to the information available to GYLA observer, there is a serious danger in Khoni district of various persons breaking into the particular polling stations and disrupting the procedures of vote counting and summarizing.  As already known, the strangers broke into the polling station #22 of the Khoni district and broke the ballot box. At the moment, there is an attempt of breaking into the polling station #19 of the Khoni district. Tbilisi. International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy, Transparency International Georgia and Georgian Young Lawyers Association released a statement. "The monitoring conducted by three nongovernmental organizations showed that, compared with the 2012 parliamentary elections, during the 2014 pre-election period, there was a smaller number of different types of violations of electoral law, including the cases of the use of administrative resources for campaign purposes and the instances of voter bribing and intimidation and detention of political activists. However, the number of problems during the pre-election period of the 2014 local government elections was much higher compared with the 2013 presidential election". TI Georgia’s new report - "Financial transparency and accountability of political parties in 2013" - reviews the issues related to political party finance and their accountability. The research analyses the annual declarations of political parties participating in the 2013 presidential elections, their election campaign fund revenue and expenses. It also underlines the tendencies of political party donations for 2014. "Misuse of administrative resources ahead of the 2014 municipal elections" - includes findings of the misuse of administrative resources during the 2014 municipal elections. Tbilisi. CSOs - Election Environment Development Center, Development and Democracy Center and For Our Healthy Future - observe the process of printing ballot papers together with the CEC members. Tbilisi. The "Young Barristers" carried out a sociological survey. Up to 1000 citizens agreed to take part in the survey. The sociological survey was carried out in Tbilisi on May 30th 2014 in three crowded places of the city – Saakadze square, Rustaveli Avenue and Marjanishvili square. Tbilisi. The Election Environment Development Center has released a statement in the social network. "Based on active cooperation with parties involved in the elections, the Central Election Commission has organized the formation of a special group on June 11 for the local self-government elections, which monitors the dissemination of propaganda materials in the penitentiary institutions for inmates who enjoy the right to vote. 16-person group including the observers from CSOs and representatives from election entities carries out monitoring in 10 penitentiary institutions of East and West Georgia. Tbilisi. The executive body and Council of the Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics will work in a hotline regime on the polling day on June15. To promote tolerance and solidarity towards women, the Gender Equality Network has organized the event-performance - "Rush-Hour" - on June 12 in Tbilisi and all ten regions. Samtskhe-Javakheti. How should a voter behave at the elections - residents of Akhaltsikhe have received leaflets in the Georgian and Armenian languages containing this information. Information campaign was organized as part of the project "Empowering Women for Equal Participation", implemented by the CSO "Woman and Development". The project aims to actively involve women in the election processes. The campaign on elections aimed at informing the population. Leaflets were printed with funding from the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training.
