Adjara. CSO "Borjghali" has launched on February15 a new project - "Democracy Narrators' School". The professor of the Georgian-American University and political scientists BakarBerekashvili has delivered the first seminar on the "Democracy - its classical and modern perception". He talked about the origins of notion of democracy and what is the dynamics of its historic development. On February 16, KobaKuprashvili has talked to 22 students of the School about the link between the democracy and the state. The "Democracy Narrators' School" was developed as part of the project "Histories of Democracy for Civil Awareness", implemented with support of the "Open Society - Georgia" Foundation.

Kakheti. In Telavi’s media café Rati Amaghlobeli introduced the literature project "My Book” to the representatives of the social clubs and public in general. "The new project is a marathon of the best books. The marathon, which will make you read all your favorite books. The marathon, which will make you discover new literature. The marathon, which will make you choose one book and say: This is my favorite one. Though it is impossible to stop arguing which book is the best one. Everyone thinks his/her favorite book is the best”, said Rati Amaghlobeli.The project is supported by BBC.  

Adjara. The "Law School" was presented on February 11 in the Batumi Civic Engagement Center. 9th, 10th and 11th graders have an opportunity to study in the Law School for free. During three months they will receive information on human rights, state law and democracy.The "Law School" is a joint project of the Civic Engagement Center and the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association (GYLA). This project runs for approximately eight years and aims to introduce legal education among schoolchildren and improve practical knowledge. Throughout the studies schoolchildren will get acquainted with conflict resolution, decision-making and other required skills. The "Law School" will bring up the children as exemplary citizens, who will react not only to their own interests but will stand up to protect the interests of others as well.

Shida Kartli. On 10th of February, the Youth Centre under the auspices of "Gori Invalids’ Club”, visited Gori State University to get information about various professional programmes. The coordinator gave information on application and educational procedures. Kakheti. CSO Georgian Democratic Initiative (GDI) has organized a two-day training in Telavi on the prohibition of discrimination and the right to respect of privacy. The project is funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Netherlands.Attending schoolchildren and students have been introduced to topics such as the human rights mechanisms, international standards and domestic legislation.

Tbilisi. A master-class was delivered on January 31 in the Tbilisi Human Rights House for the law faculty students. The event was organized as part of the project "Free Legal Aid for Socially Unprotected Citizens". Master-class was led by the lawyers of "Article 42 of the Constitution", who have informed students about the procedures of administrative proceedings. The Civil Society Institute has started recording the course of lectures as part of online training, including topics such as: "Monitoring of Public Finances", "Research Methods", "Advocacy and Lobbying", "Policy Analysis". The document was signed by the University Rector and the Head of the organization's Zugdidi Office. Imereti. A seminar was organized on January27 for the members of the Kutaisi Youth Center on "Stigma and stereotypes on the ethnic minority issues". The event aimed to inform youngsters about the best way of integration, on how should the mentality be changed in ethnic minorities and ethnic Georgians, and on how should the stigma and stereotypes be fought against in respect of ethnic minorities. Guria. General Director of the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia – Giorgi Kekelidze, together with the Library representatives has visited the Anaseuli home of the elderly in Ozurgeti. Guests have presented the residents of the home with 30 Georgian-language books. According to the idea of the General Director of the National Library, a library was organized in the home of the elderly, to be used by not only the home residents but by all residents of the Anaseuli community. The resident of the home of the elderly will administer the library.

Adjara. CSO "Changes for Equal Rights” has organized training on December 26-27 in the Batumi Civic Engagement Center for persons with disabilities in advocacy and project drafting. The training aimed to activate persons with disabilities residing in Adjara and increase their engagement in terms of protection of their rights. During two days persons with disabilities got familiar with the key methods of undertaking the advocacy campaign and acquired necessary project drafting skills.

Guria. At the initiative of the member schoolchildren of the civic clubs, the civic education corners were organized in the Ozurgeti and Lanchkhuti central libraries. Schoolchildren have come up with the idea of organizing the corner during their visits to the libraries. They have themselves placed in the libraries the manuals, periodic editions and other materials published as part of the Civic Education and Teacher Training Program. Guria. A meeting on safe traffic was organized on December 21 in the Ozurgeti Civic Engagement Center. Members of the Youth Center have watched the films produced by the Foundation "Partnership for Road Safety": "Dangerous Game" and "We Observe Traffic Rules".
