Tbilisi. On May 5 CSOs have executed the Memorandum together with the Central
Election Commission and the Inter-Agency Commission for Free and Fair
Elections. The signatory parties agreed to interpret regulations set by the
Election Code on the use of administrative resources during the election period
pursuant to the text of the Memorandum. Throughout the administrative and
judicial proceedings the signatory organizations will be guided by the
definitions set by the Memorandum.

Tbilisi. The "Sunflower" Guerilla
Gardening Day was celebrated on May3.
Citizens of various professions have gathered in the Vake Park. Together with
the organizers they have created the alley of sunflowers, and created the
applications and wrist-bands on the same topic.The event was organized by the civil
movement "Guerilla Gardening".

Tbilisi. The National Center of Democratic Development addresses the Prime
Minister. "Mr. Prime Minister, we ask you to share the concern of our
population. Our citizens can no longer move around peacefully, there is no safe
environment and the guarantees of a peaceful life for them. The police cannot
protect them and our citizens are injured...We ask you to share the concerns of our people
and react harshly. In view of the public safety interests, we ask you to
consider dismissing the Minister of Interior of Georgia Aleksandre Chikaidze

Adjara. A training was delivered on advocacy in
the Batumi Branch office of the "First Step Georgia" for the parents
of beneficiaries and early intervention specialists, aimed at informing the
participants about the rights of various social groups and opportunities for
protecting their interests.Training was delivered by the Batumi Coordinator of the Early
Intervention Program and psychologist Nino Makharadze, who has informed the
participants about basic elements and types of advocacy and offered to the
audience ways and means for improving their own lives and the state of the
society.

Tbilisi. On May2nd-6th
the organization Article 42 holds a training to promote gender equality in
working places. The Project is financed by USAID. The issues discussed are as

Tbilisi. The Civil Society Institute continues
recording the course of lectures as part of the E-Learning Program. Vazha
Salamadze together with the invited experts delivers lectures on advocacy and
lobbying.Within the project
framework the course of lectures was already recorded in monitoring of public
finances, research methods and the public policy analysis.
Adjara. On
May 1st-3rd Batumi city hall and the youth organization "Art
Wei” hosted youth theatre week.The participants are four
theatre bands from four Georgian cities – Batumi, Kutaisi, Tbilisi and Rustavi. Performances were staged where both
professionals and non-professionals took part.
Tbilisi. Organization the "Young Barristers” presented the monitoring results. According to statements "confirmation of handing 1.5 million GEL to the IDPs on July 2011 has not been verified yet. After interviewing various displaced persons, the judicial group of the organization was answered that none of them received the publicly promised money".

Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs a gigantesque marathon was staged – "Wings For Life
World Run”."Wings For Life World Run” is a charity marathon to help the disabled
people.

Adjara. On May 4th
a meeting was held in Khulo municipality by "Gender Equality Network”. The meeting was attended by Adjara and Batumi regional
coordinators, representatives of the local government, women candidates for the
2014 municipal elections. During the meeting were discussed future plans and
women candidates’ election programmes.

Samegrelo.
Members
of the Youth Center "Ortus" of Association "Atinati" were
trained on May 3 in the
"Diversity Management". 20 members of "Ortus" have
attended. Trainers have informed the Center's members about the dimensions and
features of diversity, and have examined pros and cons of diversity together
with the training participants. They have also discussed the Bennett's 6-scale
model and talked about stereotypes and tolerance. Various case studies were
used at the training.

Kakheti. The members of the
Georgian youth parliament held a meeting with schoolchildren in Shashiani Society
Centre of Gurjaani municipality.
The aim was to raise conscience among the youth about social activity. The
youth parliament initiates the projects which will enable the creation of youth
clubs in villages.

Tbilisi. Winners of the video
contest of the campaign - "This Affects You Too - They Are Still
Listening" - were identified on May 2. CSO representatives involved in the
campaign have revealed 4 winners. Up to 40 videos were submitted as part of the
contest.

Tbilisi. The Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information
has released the blog post - "Apartment of the Prosecutor's Office in
Gudauri". "Based on the public information proactively published on
the web page of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, IDFI
has learned that in 2010 one apartment with 79,50 sq.m of
residential space was transferred free of charge to the state. IDFI got interested in this case and tried to clarify the
reason behind gifting the apartment to the state as well as the purposes for
which the state had intended to use the property received free of charge."

new web page - chemikucha.ge - was posted online. On this page any interested
person can upload information about problems and damages existing on the
street, which will be consequently dealt with by the relevant City Hall
Service. The project "My Street Georgia" is run by CSO
"Transparency International – Georgia", which works on the transparency and
accountability issues. "Transparency International – Georgia" is a
member of the global movement "Transparency International".

Tbilisi. A discussion was organized on April 30 in
the Frontline Club, participants of which have discussed the existing situation
in the Patriarchate's children homes and relevant monitoring results. Notably,
the Ministry of Health had decided to monitor children homes functioning with
the Patriarchate after the international organization DRI had released the
study. Representatives of the Ministry of Health, CSOs and international
organizations have attended the meeting.

summer camp of civil education organized by SIQA is now over. Participants were
the teachers of civil education and the schoolchildren from every region of
Georgia.
