Tbilisi.The Good Governance Forum, #GGFORUM2024 explored critical topics shaping democratic societies and paving the way for transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance. Officials, experts, and civil society representatives from different countries discussed key obstacles hindering functional democracies, including corruption, organized crime, and money laundering.  They also highlighted Georgia’s progress in reforming public administration and fostering gender equality in politics. Tbilisi.CENN, with support from the United Nations Development Programme and in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, is launching the "End Plastic Pollution in Georgia" project.  This one-year initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of stakeholders and raise public awareness regarding circular models for plastic waste management. Encourage companies and organisations to avoid or reduce procurement and consumption of single-use plastic (SUP) items, replace them with more sustainable and durable products and establish circular practices. Kakheti. Shuki Movida is an initiative of MAC Georgia, the main goal of which is to collect and share stories through Facebook and other online platforms.  The protagonists are persons with disabilities and their families living in Georgia.  These individuals tell their personal stories with incredible sincerity.. The stories are accompanied by photo portraits, bringing special clarity and poetry to the stories. Within the framework of Shuki Movida, we have collected 250 photo portraits and stories from 11 regions of Georgia to date. The exhibition will held on February 8 and 9, in Lagodekhi. More... Mstketa-Mtianeti. Association "Anika" held working meetings with representatives of the local council, the municipality, the PWDs community, and other interested parties in Dusheti municipality. A project presentation was made during the meetings. Moreover, at the meetings, a discussion was held about the needs of PWDs and future plans. Tbilisi. A safety training session was conducted at Georgian Down Syndrome Associationassociation's office as part of the reproductive health project for women and girls with Down syndrome. The training proved to be very captivating for youngsters. They were completely engaged. Each individual acknowledged the indispensability and significance of such information in terms of security safeguarding. The training marked the conclusion of thematic sessions designed for adults with Down syndrome Embassy of the Netherlands in Georgia serves as the project's financial supporter.  More... On January 25-26, IDFI, held working meetings with the private sector in the cities of Kutaisi and Batumi to discuss the availability of open government data of significance to the private sector.
