Tbilisi. On February 6, GYLA has released on its web site the information on the
spending of funds from the Government Reserve Fund after the 2012 elections.Based on the
information obtained by the Young Lawyers’ Association, total of 16,585,427 GEL
were allocated from the Reserve Fund of the Government of Georgia from 2
October 2012 until 31 December 2012. Allocation of one portion – 4,973,773 GEL
is linked to the term of office of the former Prime Minister Ivane
Merabishvili, while the remaining 11,611,654 GEL were allocated during the
Prime Ministerial period of Bidzina Ivanishvili.Information
published by GYLA illustrates the distribution of funds allocated from the
Reserve Fund by various areas."GYLA once
again points out the problematic nature of legal norm connected with spending
of amounts from the President’s and Government’s Reserve Funds, which lies in
absence of respective legal regulations required for the allocation of amounts
from the Reserve Funds, and expresses readiness to actively cooperate with all
relevant agencies to improve the legislative regulations”, says the
Association’s web page.
