KvemoKartli. The organization "SIQA" (Georgian Association of Education Initiatives) and its volunteers have founded the club - "SIQA Traveler". It aims to popularize the culture of travelling among the adolescents and youth. The club will give the interested persons an opportunity to become more familiar with countries where "SIQA's" volunteers had travelled. In addition, the club participants will receive practical and specific travelling tips by means of special presentations. Persons interested in becoming the club members should visit the organization and fill in the application. ShidaKartli.The training in "Peer Education for Prevention of Trafficking" was delivered on September7 in the society "Biliki" for the members of civic clubs of the ShidaKartli schools. The training was delivered by the students of the Gori University and the leader of the civic club of the 12th Public School of Gori, who have participated in the summer camp "With and For the Youth" (International Organization for Migration) on August 17-22. After returning from the camp, it was planned to deliver the peer education trainings. The following issues were discussed at the training: what is trafficking, its signs, forms and types, trafficking and prevention mechanisms, trafficking in Georgia and its statistics. During the training a short film on the topic of trafficking was shown, followed by the discussion around the film. At the end of the training the moot court trial was held among the participants, ended by the examination of the case and its legal analysis. The clubs were awarded with the student's book – "Trading in Humans, trafficking" and the newsletters. 30 youngsters have attended the training.

Tbilisi. The international student organization "AIESEC Georgia" has announced about the recruitment of members. To become a member one has to fill in and send the application until September 30. AIESEC is an international platform for the youth, which assists them in discovering and developing their potential. Shida Kartli. The leaders of the ShidaKartli Civic Club have visited the camp located in village Ergneti. They have presented the activities of school-based civic clubs to the senior children participants of the camp and delivered the training in "active citizenry-leadership". In addition, the "cheerful starts" have taken place. Samtskhe-Javakheti. Since September 1 the Union of Democrat Meskhetians has started implementing the project – "I Elect". The project aims to promote raising the awareness of the youth with various ethnic origins living in Samtskhe-Javakheti (especially those who vote in elections for the first time) on the electoral processes. Imereti. The Kutaisi Education, Development and Employment Center has organized the debates on September 3-5. The debates concerned the following resolution: "the public must create equal development conditions for the children with disabilities". The competition in debates was held as part of the project – "informing youth for expression of one's own opinion and action" – and 4 teams of students from the Baghdati schools have participated. At the end of the competition the first and second place teams and the best 3 speakers were awarded. Samtskhe-Javakheti. The training in social media was held for the young on September 4 in the Akhaltsikhe Youth Center. The audience was informed about Internet-portal civics.ge created by the Center and the materials available in on-line library, where the interested persons can obtain required information on the social media. Training participants have discussed topics of concern and afterwards dedicated blogs to them. Development of knowledge and skills of social media among the student, teacher and other target groups is one of the key components of this program.

Samtskhe-Javakheti. A training-meeting was held as part of the small grants project in the Aspindza Public School with the representatives of civic clubs and initiative groups from public schools of villages Toloshi and Oshori of the same municipality. Training-meeting aimed at examining the topics of the new grant competition and teaching through training the skills that will help the youngsters in working on the grant project. The project is implemented by the Akhaltsikhe Youth Center.

Kvemo Kartli.The Georgian Association of Education Initiatives has organized the seminar on August 29 in the Rustavi Civic Engagement Center on "Why Should I Become a Volunteer". The notion of a volunteer, importance of volunteerism in public life, prospects of volunteerism for the Georgian youth in Georgia and abroad - these were the main topics of the seminar. Tbilisi. The works of Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani children on adapting to climate change, reducing the risk of natural calamities and protecting the biodiversity were exhibited from August 29 to September 2 in Tbilisi in the arts gallery "Baia". The exhibition of children's paintings aimed to educate and raise public awareness on these issues. The event was held as part of the environmental education week organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment. Imereti. The winners of the final of national contest "Aliante 2012" were revealed on August31. Following the intellectual and physical games, the teams from Tbilisi, Batumi and Sachkhere became the finalists of "Aliante 2012". In partnership with the Czech partner organization "Euro Atlantic Association" (JAGELLO), the winners will visit the Czech Republic in mid-September. They were awarded with the tickets, travel insurance, certificates and other prizes. The Deputy Defense Minister and the representatives of NATO Liaison Office and insurance company "Irao" have attended the closing ceremony. The national contest "Aliante" is the analog of the international contest "Aliante", which is implemented by "New Generation - New Initiative" since 2008. The project aims to raise the youngsters' awareness on the issues of security, North-Atlantic Alliance and international relations. Guria. Philologist ZaalChkheidze has visited the small family type house functioning with the Ozurgeti Union of Young Teachers. The workshop took place on 23-25 August. For three days the youngsters heards the seminars in literature and history. Apart from the resident children of the house, up to ten students of the Leaders' School have attended the meetings. During the meetings the speaker of the seminar told the audience about the essence of human liberty and its importance, as well as the less renowned facts that have created the history. In addition, he spoke about the role of mythology. Second part of the seminar was devoted to literature. They have discussed the main ideas of "Knight in the Panther's Skin", drew parallels with prominent works and characterized the heroes; have talked about the parts of this work of literature, which are not so evident and must be read beyond the lines. Throughout the seminar children had the opportunity to learn about unknown facts of lives of prominent writers and poets. On the third day the trainer has examined together with the children two paintings of William Turner. He spoke about different visions in painting, which are related to literature. Seminar participants noted that the information received during these three days was extremely interesting and that they would like to have similar events in the future as well.

Shida Kartli. With the support of the "Iris Group – Managing Diversity" and the Gori Civic Engagement Center, the project "Join Civic Education" is being implemented in Gori. Within the project framework the seminars and workshops are delivered to Gori-based youngsters of 15-17 years of age in topics such as human rights, leadership and team work, etc. The participants will be selected based on applications and interviews. Kakheti. "New Generation - New Initiative" has organized the three-day training in Kachreti for the graduates of the School of Political Leaders in areas such as political culture, theory of elections, party systems, etc. The project "School of Young Political Leaders" aimed to promote the involvement of young leaders in the political process in various regions of Georgia: Samegrelo, Imereti, Kakheti, Shida Kartli and Kvemo Kartli. Tbilisi. American Councils for International Education and the Youth Parliament of Georgia launch the new project - "New Generation for Fair Elections". 40 youngsters will be selected within the project framework, who will vote for the first time this year. They will hear seminars on branches of government, political ideologies, election system existing in the country, parliamentary, presidential and local self-government elections, etc. The project is implemented as part of the alumni grants program of the "Future Leaders Exchange Program" (FLEX), with the financial support of the United States State Department. On August 30 the Gori Civic Engagement Center has hosted the meeting on the tourist potential of Gori and the development of tourist business both in terms of historical-recreational and the sports activities. The tourist potential of the Gori Municipality includes among others the health tourism - resort Gorijvari(republic-scale balneological resort); Tana Gorge, where the ancient Georgian architectural monument Vere Fortress and monastery are located; the unique waterfall in the Tana Gorge, which is frozen in the winter and is interesting for the fans of extreme tourism; ancient city carved in the rocks - Uplistsikhe and numerous other unique places, which overall provide favorable environment for the development of tourism. The Chairman of the Gori Municipality SakrebuloZviadKhmaladze, Chief Specialist of the Sakrebulo Eka Japiashvili, representatives of the civil society and private sector, journalists and citizens have attended the meeting.

Samegrelo. The Charity Humanitarian Center "Apkhazeti" has organized the training for 40 graduates of the "IDP Professional Training and Service Center" in "Job-Finding Skills and Self-Presentation". Imereti. In August, the Georgian Association of Social Workers has delivered the training in "Social Work with the Youth and Their Families". Social workers of the Kutaisi Social Service Agency and the persons from the Imereti Region trained in the fundamentals of the social work practice have participated in the training. Tbilisi. As part of the environmental education week, the international non-governmental organization "Mercy Corps" and the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN) have started exhibiting the school student paintings. The exhibition presents paintings on environmental topics created by children from the seven municipalities of Georgia: Dedoplistskaro, Sighnaghi, Sagarejo, Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Marneuli and Ninotsminda. The exhibition is organized within the framework of the EU-funded program  "Building Local Capacity and Regional Cooperation for Adapting to Climate Change and Protecting the Biodiversity in Georgia and the South Caucasus". Imereti. On August 29-31 the Sachkhere Mountain-Training School will host the final of national competition "Aliante 2012", with participation of 25 teams. Team members who reached the final will compete in intellectual and physical games. Total of 2700 teams have registered to participate in the competition. The winners of the national round (3 teams) will visit Czech Republic in mid-September within the framework of cooperation with the Czech partner organization "Euro-Atlantic Association" (AGELLO). The Research-Intellectual Club "Dialogue of Generations” came up with the initiative to set up the "Youth Platform”, which implies the unification of resources of organizations working on the youth matters around the problems of the youth. For this very reason, the Research-Intellectual Club "Dialogue of Generations” will hold the open discussion on the initiative to form the "Youth Platform” at 14:00 on August 25, in the Kutaisi Civic Engagement Center. The civil society organization invites all NGOs interested in this idea and working on the youth-related matters.

Guria. On August 10-19 the "Student-Youth Council” has hosted the youth exchange project in Ureki. The event, which carried the title of "Dialogue in Quadrology”, united the young participants from 4 countries (Lichtenstein, Ukraine, Poland, Georgia) and aimed at getting familiar with cultural values and national traditions and inter-cultural learning through the application of informal education methods. The final product of the event was the theatrical performance, which the project participants have presented in the Batumi. Central Park.
