Samtskhe-Javakheti. Meeting with the US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly C. Degnan  was held at Samtskhe-Javakheti State University on October 25, 2022. Together with the local students, participants of the GFSIS project from villages Mokhe, Zarzma and Daba Adigeni attended the meeting.  Community Youth Engagement in the Regions of Georgia has been launched since October 2021 by Rondeli Foundation with the financial support of the US Embassy, which aims to increase civic awareness among public school pupils of Mountainous Adjara, Tserovani, and Adigeni Municipality and stregthen their capacity through non-formal educational activities. Samtskhe-javakheti. On October 18-19,  2022, in the framework of the project Community Youth Engagement in the Regions of Georgia, the following discussion was held by George Melashvili (President of the European-Georgian Institute) and Aka Zarqua (Online edition Realpolitik editor-in-chief). The lecturer and students discussed about the historical discourse of disinformation, its influence on the formation of public opinion, and modern examples of disinformation. On October 10, 2022, The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) acquainted Erasmus+ financed study visit participants with the work and achievements of the Memory and Disinformation Studies Direction. Regions. The lawyers of Transparency International - Georgia visited the regions of Imereti, Samegrelo and Adjara and provided information to the population on the issues of systematic land registration. We gave legal advice to citizens about their rights and duties within the framework of systematic land registration. The systematic registration of land, according to the plan established by the National Agency of Public Registry, is already underway in the entire territory of the country. Under this framework, on its own initiative, the Public Registry measures land plots, searches for relevant documentation and registers ownership. It's a day to recognize those with cerebral palsy (CP) and their families. “Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that affect coordination and muscle tone/posture. It's caused by damage that occurs to the brain as it develops, most often before birth. Cerebral palsy's effect on function varies greatly. Some affected people can walk; others need assistance. Regions. On September 29-30, 2022, the Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) in cooperation with the National Parliament Library of Georgia held a presentation on the issue of repressed people in Kaspi, Borjomi, and Gori and a screening of the film "Cemetery of the Shot in Batumi" shot by Radio Free Georgia/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL). “Before the screening of the film, Anton Vatcharadze, the Memory and Disinformation Studies Direction Head of the Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), gave a presentation on the theme of the repressed and talked about the great terror that took place in Georgia in 1937-1938, introduced a different history from the mentioned era to the audience, and also drew attention to the specificity and significance of the discovery of mass graves. He discussed the history of the tombs discovered in Adjara, the work carried out together with the Eparchy of Batumi and Lazeti and the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland (IPN), steps taken, and future plans”. On September 27-28, a seminar "Transformation of Human Resources Management" was held for human resource management specialists in the public sector, led by Swedish consultants Mats Beskow and Hans Norgren and their Georgian colleague Tamta Chrikishvili. Tbilisi. On August 18-20, 2022, Boot Camp: "Polarized Society Facing Hybrid Challenges", organized by the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) and the University of Georgia (UG), was held in which the students of the IDFI/UG Academic and Certificate Course - Disinformation and Propaganda Studies: History, Theories and Ways of Debunking were involved. Within the framework of the two-day camp, the participants discussed the modern challenges of hybrid warfare, the current trends related to the manipulation of information, and the spread of propaganda. Special attention was paid to the policies following Russia's aggressive invasion of Ukraine and the leverages of society based on Ukraine's experience in the fight against hybrid warfare. Tbilisi. A closing meeting was held on June 11-12 within the framework of the ongoing project “Empowering New Generation of Local Civil Society Leaders in Georgia". "The project is being implemented with the technical support of ISFED and the financial support of the Black Sea Trust, a Project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States. Young leaders who have attended civic education workshops from different municipalities of Georgia participated in the meeting. The main goal of the meeting was to give the graduates an opportunity to inform each other about the success stories accumulated as a result of participating in the project. Those graduates, who implemented small grant initiatives in their municipalities within the project, shared their successful practices with others, talked about the implemented activities, the achieved results, and the lessons learned. According to the UNIICEF, on July 20, the educational resource on positive parenting “Parents ABC” was released at the Dedaena Park as part of the communication for social change campaign “Be a Positive Parent” which has been carried out by UNICEF with the support from the European Union in Georgia. Kakheti. On July 14th, 2022 the graduation ceremony for the project participants was held in the village Jokolo, Pankisi Gorge. Along with certificates, the successful participants revealed based on the quiz results conducted within the framework of the projects received awards. Graduation ceremony was attended by the students, parents, teachers and principals of the schools of the villages: Duisi, Jokolo and Omalo. The project “Pankisi Youth School” is being implemented by the Georgian Foundation of Strategic and International Studies and is founded through the Alumni Grants Program by the US Embassy in Georgia and aims to raise civic awareness and informal education among young people (14-18-year-olds) in Pankisi Gorge.
