Tbilisi. Member organizations of "This Affects You Too" released the statement concerning the arrest of aerials belonging to TV company "Maestro". Imereti. On July 12, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems and the CEC have organized the conference in Kutaisi. Apart from the CEC Chairman Zurab Kharatishvili, the chairmen of the Imereti District Election Commissions, editors of media outlets, and the producers and publishers have participated in the conference. The CEC informed the journalists about already implemented and planned events in wake of the 2012 parliamentary elections. In addition, the audience was informed about the CEC's long-term action plan for 2012-2014. The CEC intends to hold similar meetings in the near future with the media representatives of Adjara, Guria, and Samegrelo.

Shida Kartli. The Coalition "Freedom of Choice" and the Gori Democratic Engagement Center have organized a meeting on July 5 in Gori with the representatives of local civil and media organizations, students and active citizens, who are interested in improving the electoral environment. The invited guests - media expert LashaTughushi and the expert in election issues Irakli Melashvili - have led the meeting. The have informed the attendees about legislative amendments that obligate cable operators to include in their packages all channels covering the pre-election processes. The positive and negative aspects of this law were discussed. The meeting also concerned the media environment in ShidaKartli and the problems encountered in the neighboring villages of the former South Ossetia. Namely, these villages receive high quality programs of the Russian television companies, while the Georgian channels are broadcast with a flawed signal. Afterwards the discussion was held with participation of organizers and the invited guests.

Imereti. On June 28, members of the Council of Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics met with local journalists and discussed the existing ethical problems of the journalistic work. As the representatives of the Charter stated, their objective is to popularize the Charter as the mechanism of self-regulation and to inform the citizens thereof. The Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics was established in December 2009. According to the latest data, there are 213 signatories to the Charter.
