Adjara. The Head of the "Young Collegium" has presented a project on September 11 in the Batumi Civic Engagement Center.As part of the project "European Course - Conscious Choice of Young Politicians", meetings to raise qualification of young leaders of political parties in Adjara will be organized in the future as well. A public discussion of the 2015 budget, programs and sub-programs was held on September 11 in the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Adjara Autonomous Republic, attended by the representatives of non-governmental sector, institutions implementing the Ministry's programs and the state agencies.Representatives of the Units for Sports and Youth Affairs of the Adjara Department for Sports and Youth Affairs have informed the audience about the 2015 programs in their areas and presented the budgets. Tbilisi. The Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center has released a statement on the incident in Kobuleti. "On September 10, the local residents in Kobuleti have protested against the construction of a boarding house by the Muslim community and have slaughtered a pig in front of the building entrance, while they have hanged the cut-off head of the animal on the building door. ... Heads of the boarding house were experiencing continued insult and obstruction of activities by the specific/identifiable group, and there are clear elements of crime foreseen under Article 156 of the Criminal Code (persecution), thus requiring timely and effective investigation by the law-enforcement authorities. Adjara. On September 10, the Batumi Mayor Giorgi Ermakov and representatives of the City Hall services have met with youngsters who have participated in developing the Batumi Youth Support Program. This Program was developed by the union for development and cooperation "Progress", which aims to engage youth in the self-government work and share experience to interested youngsters. CSO "Women for Regional Development" have organized a 16-day campaign against gender violence together with the Gender Equality Civic Club functioning with the Ozurgeti Civic Engagement Center.The festival of documentaries was organized as part of the campaign. As part of the UN joint program "Promoting Gender Equality in Georgia", the "Kakheti Civil League" has announced a small grants program competition for hte Kakheti-based CSOs and the initiative groups.According to the "Kakheti Civil League" representatives, the UN joint program issues small grants in the range of 2,500 USD.Further, the small grants program aims to raise public awareness on reproductive health and gender equality. This program will facilitate education of women and men and create favorable environment for introducing gender equality, as well as increase the population's demand for services and rights related to reproductive health.Deadline for submission of applications in September 20, and the organization will announce winner projects on September 30.
