Young farmers of Tsnori Agro School will supply their harvest to the Tbilisi agro market, Café “Mziuri” on August 7, at 17:00. Young farmers at 8-13 years of age learned at the online agro school of “Knowledge Café” how to grow 5 crops and on Friday, in the yard of Café “Mziuri”, they will meet you at the agro market and bring: cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, broccoli. A fun agro quiz is going to be held for young guests of the agro market, winners of which will receive agro stickers as presents. Shida Kartli. Within the Dual Vocational Education Programme, the short-term vocational training courses in Vet Technicians are underway for the internally displaced people and the conflict-affected youth residing in the Shida Kartli region. The courses have 13 participants.  EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment, and Participation in Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine is implemented by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) in Georgia. Within the framework of the capacity building program Public Movement Multinational Georgia (PMMG) organized trainings for ethnic minority entrepreneurs residing in Ninotsminda, Akhalkalaki, Akhaltsikhe, Gardabani, Marneuli, and Bolnisi Municipalities.  During the training highly qualified and experienced experts introduced the participants to the stages and ways of developing, planning and implementing a business plan. Within the framework of a social campaign “This Country Is Yours”, the Civil Society Institute has started public meetings with young people in regions of Georgia... At meetings, attended by popular people, youngsters are informed about civil society, civic values and activities of civil society organizations; participants of meetings are going to receive an almanac, which is prepared within the framework of the campaign and brings together thoughts of the best sons of Georgia in regard to freedom, justice and democracy, as well as physical maps of the world, Europe, region and Georgia, including important information printed on them, promotional products of the campaign. There will also be conducted an award ceremony for winners of a youth competition of the “This Country Is Yours” campaign at public meetings. This competition was carried out all over the country and about 150 teams of senior schoolchildren participated in it. Winners – schoolchildren and their curator teachers - who were identified by a jury, consisting of teachers and representatives of civil society organizations, are going to be given notebooks as a gift. The first public meeting and the first award ceremony of winners were held today, in Gori. Until August 15, the team of the Civil Society Institute will conduct 15 more such meetings in Shida Kartli, Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti, Imereti, Adjara, Guria and Samegrelo. The purpose of the “This Country Is Yours” social campaign is to facilitate enhancement of civil society in Georgia and increase awareness of civil society organizations; to convey values and functions of civil society organizations, as well as the essence of their activities to population properly and demonstrate the importance of civic activism. The campaign is carried out within the framework of the “Civil Society Sustainability Initiative” project. The “Civil Society Sustainability Initiative” project is implemented by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) in collaboration with the Civil Society Institute (CSI), the Center for Training Consultancy (CTC), the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) and the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC). Tbilisi. Children and adolescents have been greatly affected by the COVID-19 global pandemic. UNICEF is particularly concerned about the impact on those that have inequitable access to basic services and resources. “Children living in overcrowded households or in inadequate conditions, like lacking hand-washing and other hygiene facilities, are particularly vulnerable to rapid COVID-19 transmission. According to UNICEF’s Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey, 29,800 children in Georgia have no handwashing facility with water and soap in the household. This means they are exposed to a greater risk of COVID-19 infection. All children should continue to learn during the ongoing crisis and be able to safely return to school. Children who are already marginalized by lack of access to digital tools and internet connectivity, favourable home learning environments and parental support, risk falling further behind”, is noted in the statement. New Thinking Institute launches an innovative project. “Despite the fact that a number of state and non-governmental organizations have been implementing awareness raising projects for years, the problem of early marriage is still acute in Georgia. Due to early marriage women do not have access to education and employment opportunities. Marriage at a young age also significantly hinders their engagement in social life. To resolve above-mentioned problems, New Thinking Institute offers parents a project - “School of Mothers”, which is going to bring 20 volunteer mothers, living in Sadakhlo, Molaogli and Khuldara villages, together to participate in 10 months seminars and trainings in various subjects, including civic education, Georgian and English (elementary level) languages, nature, mathematics, computer programs. The “This Country is Yours” campaign serves to empower civil society in Georgia, promote civic values, activities of civil society organizations, and facilitate civic activism.  On May 21, at 17:00, there will be conducted a remote information meeting with civic education teachers of Tbilisi, aiming at engaging them in the campaign. Within the framework of the “Civil Society Sustainability Initiative” project there was carried out an interesting information campaign aiming to stop the spread of COVID 19. Bread was sold with special information labels - a total of 173 760 units. Besides, as part of this campaign, 22 500 reusable bags were distributed to the population in ten regions of Georgia. These bags had also information related to COVID 19 preventive measures, as well as the unified hotline of the Public Safety Management Center - 112, Ministry of Health, National Center for Disease Control and Government printed on them in Georgian, Azerbaijani and Armenian languages. This campaign was planned by the Education Development and Employment Center within the framework of the “Civil Society Sustainability Initiative” project, implemented by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) in collaboration with the Civil Society Institute (CSI), Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) and Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC).
